Becoming a Wellness Coach

Are you passionate about health and wellness?

Would you love to help others create healthy, balanced lives?

Do you dream of having a career that is flexible, meaningful, inspiring and truly makes a difference?

If you answered ‘YES!’ to those, then we have a lot in common and I’d love to share with you my experience of becoming a Holistic Wellness Coach with the International Association of Wellness Professionals (IAWP).

As soon as I came across the IAWP and discovered what they were offering, I actually welled up as I instantly knew that it was the career path for me (despite some fearful thoughts that followed such as ‘Can I really run my own business?’ and ‘I’ve just spent 4 years studying speech & language therapy, should I really be changing path already?’).

I’m so glad that I overrode those fears and followed my heart instead!

What I learnt during my training at the IAWP has been invaluable.

I considered myself to be ‘healthy’ before starting the training, but I realise now the true meaning of holistic health; that every area of our lives is connected and that health is so much more than just diet and exercise (see the image I created for this blog post to understand what it really includes!)

There is endless information available to us today about health and wellbeing and many of us know what is good and bad for our health (at least the basics!).

Yet the reality is that it’s not enough to get people to act on it. This is where the value of a coach makes all the difference. Someone to guide you in identifying and clarifying your personal goals, to open your mind to different possibilities and solutions, and to hold you motivated and accountable to follow through with them.

This is exactly what I am doing for my clients today through my online programmes as well as in person workshops!

As you may already be aware, I’ve chosen to specialise in supporting shy women introverts to break free from chronic overthinking, self-doubt and holding back so they can finally feel happy and confident in their own skin and be their true authentic selves around others.

My approach of course is holistic! We cover emotions, mindset, self-love, physical self-care, relationships, purpose and passion (which ties to both career and spirituality).

Why so many areas?

Because every area of our lives is connected! And because I know from my own journey and from the women I work with that in order to experience a real, lasting shift in your confidence and happiness, then exploring, healing and developing these areas is essential.

The really cool part about being in this fast-growing industry is that not only are you able to enrich the lives of others on a global scale (thanks to technology), but you also continue to learn, grow, and enrich your own life as well as the lives of those around you on a daily basis.

Health and wellness is an ever-evolving field that draws from both the wisdom of ancient healing traditions and modern science so there’s always something new to learn about and practice!

Here are some of the unique highlights of the IAWP training programme:

  • You receive an in-depth education in Wellness, Coaching and Business leaving you fully equipped to launch your new career. The education is accredited and globally-recognised and you learn from top experts in each field.
  • You are guided to find your niche (who you want to help specifically) and create your very own signature programme based on your real life experiences, knowledge, passions and values (supplemented by the learning you acquire throughout the training!)
  • You receive ongoing personal support and lifetime up-to-date access to the classroom and trainings
  • You become part of a community of holistic wellness professionals who are making a difference across the globe

My finals words of advice are: listen to your heart and act on it! Life is too short to not spend it doing what you love, what you believe in and what you are best at!
